Enjoying Life

Enjoyment of life

A friend of mine recently told me how she went into her favorite coffee shop after a six-month absence, and the staff there happily greeted her and unpacked a new package of her favorite coffee especially for her. She told me how nice and warm it was. It would seem such a trifle? But no.

Pleasure from life comes to us in a variety of ways. Often it silently tiptoes around us, but we don’t notice it because it is not bright or noisy. Pleasure can be in a cup of aromatic tea or excellent coffee. It may be a fleeting coincidence of our plans and coincidences: for example, the right bus arrived exactly when we arrived at the stop. Or an item you liked in the store suddenly had a big unadvertised discount. It can manifest itself in the fact that you were able to sit in nature for a while, slow down and breathe in the spring air. Or maybe it’s that your favorite music suddenly started playing from the window of a passing car. Or that in your daily routine you found time for yourself or to call people you care about and enjoy a conversation. Or maybe it’s that you put on the clothes that you like and walked around the house all day.

In short, there are a lot of small and big pleasures around. Do we know how to notice it? Moreover, do we know how to stop and enjoy this pleasure? Because the feeling of satisfaction with one’s own life depends on this: directly proportional. There may be many blessings around us, we may be in a wonderful place, but we will suffer because of what we do not have, refusing to see what could nourish us. It’s like being married to a good person, but not noticing it until the relationship is over. Therefore, the best choice is always to notice, be able to stop and enjoy even a short moment. And internally thank yourself and life for these joys.

If you don’t know how to do this, try to do it consciously; you will be surprised how, in a few weeks, your inner sense of yourself and your life will change dramatically. I myself try to live this way, and I myself have changed my life very much from the inside in this very way. I sincerely wish the same for you.
